My favorite things to do are sleep, hang out with Derry (husband) and Silas (dog), learn, and help other people learn. No kidding. I also love to travel, cook, do stuff outside, read, make music, be with friends & family & dogs, and watch movies, especially comedies and brain-benders. My new favorite movie EVER is Inception. I'll be surprised if it's ever de-throned by another movie, that's how much I love it.
My favorite subject is the mind-brain-personal-interpersonal complex. In my free time I study how the brain works - why we experience things as we do, how we learn, how we can change ourselves. I love physics, chemistry, biology, math, and computers because these tools are necessary for understanding how everything works (including our brain). And I like Buddhism because it's basically how to train your brain so that you're more free to experience reality as it is, without the obscuring shroud of your own baggage (which is the source of suffering. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional).

Two of my favorite things in the world are Burning Man and the Oregon Country Fair. Hope to see you there! :^j
